This was an unusual week for workouts due to some crazy weather! I did love the 3 snow days we had!!!!

14 mile run on the treadmill @8:56 pace! This was the run I postponed from Sunday to avoid the frigid temps and ended up inside because of the beginning of a snowstorm.

Strength and conditioning class ( only two of us showed up so it was more of a personal training session that kicked our butt
4 mile run on the treadmill @ 8:54 pace (my legs were shot from class)
2 hour delay for school

Tried to take Tabata class, but I was the only one to show up 😦 The instructor offered to have a personal training session class, but I opted for a run instead.
7 mile run on the treadmill again:( @ 8:32 pace.
Snow day for school!

SnowCold day call for school the night before so I opted to sleep in so no class for me.
4 mile run on the treadmill @8:44 pace

Strength and conditioning class
I love this one, my friend Lisa teaches and I can only go in the summer or on a day off so I was SO excited! She kicked our butt 🙂

7 mile run on the treadmill @ 8:42 pace

13.6 mile run on the treadmill @ 8:46 pace.

This past week the treadmill and I have become good friends, but I am ready for a break-up! Between the snowy roads and the below zero temps I have had enough of winter. I NEED to run outside!

My planking was hit and miss this week. Monday and Tuesday I remembered, Wednesday and Thursday I forgot, FRIDAY we did a bunch in class, and Saturday I forgot. Today I planked for 2:30.

Weekly mileage 50. 6 miles
Monthly mileage 108 miles
2015 mileage 234 miles! I am starting to rack them up with all the marathon training!

Powdery, sparkly snow!

The picture doesn’t do it justice, but Monday afternoon/evening we had the most beautiful snowfall and it was so powdery and sparkly I love it!

Snow day fun!

Tuesday we had a two hour delay thanks to the snow Monday evening. On Wednesday it started snowing about 5 AM and it was enough and at the right time to give us a snow day! Thursday there was a windchill advisory with temps at -5 and wind chills of -25, so another snow day!

We braved the snowy roads on Wednesday and took the kids for breakfast. The roads were pretty bad, but it was worth the quick trip!

A trip down memory lane

On Wednesday evening I went with my parents to Cincinnati for my aunt’s viewing. On our way home, we drove by my grandma’s old house ( the last time I had seen her house was 9 years ago right before she passed away). We also made a dinner spot at my grandma’s favorite restaurant, Frisch’s. It took me back to years ago and spending time with my grandma!

Baking with my kids

I don’t bake as much as I used to, but now when I bake my kids love to help out. We are preparing for Alex and Eric’s 9th birthday. The kids helped me make the cake cups for the party. They love to help in the kitchen whether it is baking or just making dinner.

This week the workouts strayed from the norm a bit due to a short work week (you have to love a four day week!) FRIDAY FAV #1 and a surprise trip out of town!

Tabata class (we had a sub and she kicked our butts!) This is usually my easier workout day, but it was a much loved surprise and a great way to start the day! FRIDAY FAV#2

Disneyland Half marathon

Today was the day to register for the Disneyland Half Marathon! The weekends events include a 5k, 10k, and a half marathon. If you want to really challenge yourself, you can sign up for the Dumbo Double Dare Challenge which involves running the 10k on Saturday and the half marathon on Sunday.

I would have loved to sign up for any/all of the races, but it just wasn’t in the cards for me this year. 😦

I did enjoy living vicariously through everyone that was signing up and following along on social media. The Dumbo Double Dare sold out in about 35 minutes! As of this posting, the half marathon is the only race with availability.

As I got dressed this morning, I subconsciously put on my Disneyland shirt (my husband brought it back from the Star Wars race weekend) and my Goofy Challenge shirt. I also realized I wore my runDisney shirt on my run today. My brain must have really wanted to sign up for this race.

Well, hopefully 2016 will be the year that I get to run in Disneyland and earn my Coast to Coast. Unless there is a Fairy Godmother out there who would like to sponsor me!!! Any takers?

A girl can dream. Dreaming of runDisney

Did you sign up for the Disneyland half marathon?

Do you like to plank?

Disney Side Celebration

Show Your Disney Side

I have been chosen to host a Disney Side celebration again this year. My family and I are very excited! We love Disney and anytime we can incorporate Disney into a party, it is even better!

This is the kit I received to host the party

We are going to celebrate my twins 9th birthday in a few weeks with a DisneySide party. I have already started the planning process and can’t wait to see it all come together.

Last year I was also selected as a DisneySide host and here are a few pictures of how we celebrated.

I know it is already Saturday, but I still wanted to post my Friday favs because there were some good ones! Better late than never, right?

Fav #1

Hot yoga

I have been going to a new to me yoga class since about November. The studio is a combo yoga/spinning fitness center. yoga-logik.logikfit.com. It is a hot vinyasa class and I absolutely love it! It is like a workout and massage all in one. As you are in poses, the instructor comes around and massages your shoulders/back/neck/forehead. It is the best way to spend an hour in the evening. This week she had us “play” and we attempted flying pigeon. It was fun to try, but I was definitely not successful. At least I made the effort! This is what the pose is supposed to look like. Maybe with a little LOT more practice. I will get there.

New shoes

If you read my post on shoes, here I am in the market for some more shoes. I only bought one new pair and they were definitely needed. I got the Brooks Glycerin 12 and took them out for a run this morning. I LOVE THEM!

New socks

I never used to worry about what kind of socks I wore when I ran. I quickly learned that good socks are just as important as good shoes. I wear, swiftwick and pro compression, but recently purchased some bombas. The Bombas have a nice cushion to them and the sock comes up a little higher in the back than I am used to, but I still like them. Just like my shoe obsession, but not quite as bad, one can never have enough nice socks!

Bolthouse Farms juice

I drink water, water, and more water, and Nuun in my water. I am not a juice person. The other day I decided to try some good for me juice. I grabbed this one

The fact that it was strawberry and banana and said smoothie on it sold me. I was surprised by how thick it was, it really did taste like a smoothie, but without the watered down ice flavor. I will definitely try some of the other flavors.
